These Chocolate Bars Sandwich are made with a double layer of chocolate. These vegan and gluten-free bars do not contain refined sugar. This delicious dessert is very easy to make. All you need is a few common ingredients and a good mood.

I have already made bars with one layer of chocolate. Today I decided to do something new. And I added another layer of chocolate to the recipe. The end result was chocolate bars in the form of a sandwich. In this form, the dessert became even tastier. It’s so nice to be the first to experience the taste of dark chocolate. And then the stuffing. So. Let’s not be distracted, but let’s start preparing this magnificent dessert.

Vegan Bar Ingredients

To prepare Chocolate Bars Sandwich, you will need the most common ingredients. These are dates, almond flour, gluten-free rolled oats, cacao powder, cacao butter and vanilla extract. Grind in a blender or coffee maker before making rolled oats. I like the smoother texture of the bars. Therefore, I grind rolled oats to a state of flour. Cacao butter can be replaced with coconut oil. But I prefer not to. With cacao butter, bars hold their shape better at room temperature.

A few more words about frosting. Why add coconut oil to chocolate? When sliced with coconut oil, the chocolate will not break. 

And the bars will turn out even. In addition to the ingredients themselves, you will also need a 13 x 18 cm form and parchment.

How to make Chocolate Bars Sandwich

We start making chocolate bars with the first layer of chocolate icing. Do you remember that we have two layers of chocolate? Here is the first one and we will do it now. To do this, melt the dark chocolate without sugar and coconut oil in any way. Then pour the melted chocolate into the mold. And do not forget to put parchment in the form before this. Put the mold with chocolate in the freezer for 15 minutes.

While the chocolate hardens, we proceed to the preparation of the filling of the bars. First, remove the pits from the dates. Next, soak the dates in hot water for 15 minutes. After this time, peel the dates from the skin.

Then put the peeled dates into the blender bowl. Add the melted cacao butter and vanilla extract to the dates. Work with a blender until the masa is smooth.

Then, in a bowl, mix together the almond flour, crushed rolled oats and cacao powder. Then add the date mass and mix until smooth. Put the blank for the filling in the mold on the chocolate and smooth it well.

Next we will make another layer of chocolate icing. The cooking process is the same as for the first layer. Just melt the dark chocolate and coconut oil. Then pour the chocolate into the mold. Place the mold in the refrigerator for 2 hours. It may take longer to dry. When the chocolate has hardened, cut the bars into portions. Store Chocolate Bars Sandwich in a tightly sealed container for 3 to 5 days in the refrigerator. This dessert can also be placed in the freezer. He will stay there longer.

  • 10 pieces (200g) pitted Medjool dates

  • 2/3 cup (70g) almond flour

  • 2/3 cup (100g) rolled oats gluten-free, crushed

  • 5 tablespoons (50g) cacao butter

  • 2 tablespoons (20g) cacao powder

  • 100g dark chocolate

  • 2 tablespoons refined coconut oil

  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  • Melt sugar-free dark chocolate and refined coconut oil. Pour the chocolate mixture into the parchment mold. Place the mold in the freezer for 15 minutes.
  • In a blender, combine peeled dates, melted cacao butter and vanilla extract.
  • In a bowl, combine almond flour, crushed rolled oats and cacao powder. Add the date mixture to the flour mixture.
  • Put the blank for the filling in the mold on the frozen chocolate.
  • Melt the dark chocolate and coconut oil in any way possible. Pour the melted icing over the filling. Put the mold in the refrigerator for 2 hours until the chocolate hardens.
